There's several problems with carrier pigeons.

1. We don't have any carrier pigeons.
2. Even if one of us knew how to train them, we don't have any carrier pigeons.
3. Assuming we could train them to open doors and carry messages to the right people, we still don't actually have any carrier pigeons.

Think it's more vocational than that. Nobody expects you to show up for your shifts, you're never going to get fired, even if you only show up once a month. Hobby might be more accurate, but just doing my hobby lacks a lot of punch.
